adidas Launch The X 18+ "Energy Mode"

Ramping up the intensity for a summer of speed adidas load their first World Cup ready weapon in the form of the new generation X 18+ boot. Launching as the first arrival to the adidas "Energy Mode" Pack, the X 18+ will feature on the feet of all X players in Russia next month.

Yep, the X series has gone full laceless to make it a clean sweep across the trio of leading adidas silos. Built with a minimal and lightweight construction to replace the X 17, the boot will be worn on pitch at the 2018 World Cup by the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Luis Suarez, and Mo Salah.

Opening the "Energy Mode" show with strong style, the X 18 series will be joined by the Predator, Nemeziz, and COPA models in corresponding colourways once the Champions League Final is over and done with this weekend. The new X 18+ will dance that stage alone in Kiev on Saturday night.

On first impression the X 18+ has visible F50 adizero DNA, but the innovation makes this next level. A laceless upper locks-down the mid-foot for controlled acceleration, and a new low-cut CLAW COLLAR construction features a new stretch material that secures the foot in place and provides increased stability and support.

An updated SPEEDFRAME outsole features lightweight, Drillium engineered tooling and minimalistic construction to offer traction during rapid acceleration. A 3D MOULDED HEEL provides a snug and stable fit, designed to lock the foot in place during acceleration.

Innovative materials ensure complete control even at high-speed. The SKELETAL WEAVE is compiled of an ultra-thin woven grid of optically charged speed yarns to allow for responsive touch and lightweight feel.
