Serving up a proper special edition, adidas have linked up with Pro:Direct Soccer for an exclusive re-release of the classic “Black/Sun” F50 adizero from 2010, celebrating ten years of the game-changing speed boot.

Ready for a rewind to the 2010 World Cup? Celebrating 10 years since the tournament, adidas have paired up with Pro:Direct Soccer for a very special limited edition design that combines the past with the present. Aptly named ‘Memory Lane’, the limited edition design features a one-for-one upper of the original “Black/Sun” F50 adizero sitting on top of the new carbon fibre infused X Ghosted.1 soleplate.

The F50 adizero was always about lightweight speed, but that iconic upper, instantly conjuring memories of the Jabulani, vuvuzelas and the colour of South Africa, is now combined with the Sprint spike-inspired plate from the X Ghosted.1, which is specially designed for instant acceleration. The raised forefoot combines with arrowhead traction for maximum propulsion, while rounded studs are utilised in the rear foot for quick changes of direction, altogether meaning that the fast of 2010 just got faster.

Officially released today, this is actually not the first time that we’ve seen the boot, with its appearance on the feet of Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi now being cleared up. Initial speculation was that it could possibly have been a custom job for the Chelsea man, but now we know that it’s actually the most premium of special editions. Get ‘em while you can…
