Following some fairly unsubtle teasing over the last week, the Paul Pogba x adidas by Stella McCartney collection has officially dropped, and as expected, it features the first ever 100 percent vegan adidas Predator Freak.

Now, by unsubtle teasing, we refer to Paul Pogba just blatantly wearing his newly designed Predator Freak in training this week and then in Manchester United’s subsequent Champions League match against Atalanta. That followed the announcement that something was being cooked up by Pogba and Stella McCartney, leaving absolutely no question as to what it was he was wearing. And now it officially comes served up on International vegan day.

The idea of a link up between Pogba and Stella McCartney was first floated back when lockdown was in full swing, and adidas were making the most of the situation and battling boredom by pairing up two ambassadors from opposing disciplines for ‘The Huddle’, in which the creatives would talk candidly about whatever comes up. And one of those pairings obviously found the flamboyancy of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba offset by the fashion savvy Stella McCartney. Flash forward 17 months and voila!

So a pinch of Pogba, a spoonful of Stella,100 percent vegan… The collection sees a Predator Freak + and .1 both featuring an iconic Stella McCartney leopard graphic, wrapped across the boot and merged with an ‘earth explorer’ graphic beneath striking orange Demonskin spikes. An opalescent finish and ombré rainbow mirror metallic plates round off the incredible design of this history-making vegan adidas football boot.

And Pogba’s not the only player to be wearing the boots over the next few matches, with fellow international Wendie Renard also set to slip into them for her next three fixtures, staring with France’s women’s world cup qualifier against Estonia tonight.
