Nike open their 2023 account with the ‘Blast Pack’, which sees the all-new Phantom GX lining up alongside the Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XV and Superfly IX for the very first time.

Fresh off of a successful World Cup campaign, Nike brings focus back to the domestic scene with the launch of the ‘Blast Pack’, which sees the all-new Phantom GX as the focal point, with it being the first time that it’s appeared in a pack. And it comes with some strong support from the Mercurial Vapour XV and Superbly IX. The ‘Blast Pack’ takes over from the ‘Lucent Pack’ as the main on pitch look for the next phase of the season.

The main talking point of the Blast Pack is the Phantom GX, and it arrives today in both its second and third colour ways following its launch look, with a more understated blackout look lining up alongside the more visible ‘Blast Pack’ colourway. The Phantom GX’s calling card is Nike Gripknit technology, touted as a huge step for the brand, and it’s said that it will revolutionise the football footwear landscape. The material itself is a mix of high-tenacity yarns with a treatment to create Gripknit. The result is perfect interaction with the ball, offering just the right amount of stick.

The Air Zoom Mercurial, in both Vapor XV and Superfly IX guise comes in a “White/Baltic Blue/Pink Blast/Indigo Haze” colourway, with a strong connective link between its look and the Phantom GX’s presentation. The Air Zoom Mercurial comes with a three-quarter length Zoom airbag – Nike’s first-ever soccer-specific Zoom Air unit – and it sits directly inside of the plate of the boot, bringing the foot closer to the ground for an even greater sense of snappy, propulsive energy return.
