Back with a second instalment of Air Max Plus-inspired goodness, Nike have revealed the Air Zoom Mercurial x Air Max Plus in a “Black/Pimento” colourway, following on from January’s drop.

Nike started the year in typically disruptive fashion, dropping the special edition Air Max Plus Tn-inspired edition of the current Air Zoom Mercurial, which arrived in a “Volt Purple/Total Orange” colourway that was available on both the Vapor XV and the Superfly IX. Now, they follow that up with yet another colourway from the Air Max Plus, with the “Black/Pimento” look transferred onto the Mercurial.

Following in the same mould as the initial drop, this latest Mercurial x Air Max Plus release is set to see “pimento” as the base colour, borrowing from the accents that were used on the first. The palm tree-inspired TPU cage retains its place on the Mercurial in glossy black, while the usual whale tail-shaped shank has been understandably replaced by the Air Zoom Mercurial’s regular soleplate, ensuring it is pitch ready. It’s here that you’ll also find the switch up from “Tn” to “Zm” – an obvious nod to the Air Zoom unit contained within.
