Ramping up the appeal to the grassroots game, Mizuno have launched the ‘Aurum Pack’, wrapping the Morelia Neo IV β, Morelia Neo IV, and Morelia II in black coats with golden embellishments.

Now that you’re likely through the hell of preseason and well into the start of the new season, you may be looking upon your trusty footwear – the ones with the upper coming away from the soleplate – and reconsidering the hope that they may see you through just one more campaign with the use of a bit of electrical tape. If that sounds familiar, then Mizuno are on hand to sort you out with the release of the beautifully lowkey ‘Aurum Pack’, presenting several price point options from its Morelia line in a sleek black and gold presentation.

The champion of the Aurum pack is the progressive Morelia Neo IV β Made In Japan. The mark IV is very much a case of tweaks on the III rather than anything too radical. There’s a new upper mid foot mesh for improved fitting, and that combines with the updated knit pattern on the tongue and collar area, which has been raised by 5mm for improved fit. It’s also been improved with three-dimensional stretch properties allowing better comfort around the top of the Foot. The sockliner lining material has been changed to provide more grip as well as a more luxurious first touch.

While the Made in Japan variation is the absolute pinnacle of craftsmanship, reflected in the price, the Morelia Neo IV β is available in a regular variation, at a significantly lower price.

Moving down the line and next up is the Morelia Neo IV, which offers up a slightly more traditional take, while still offering up some performance through the tooling and soleplate. Unlike the Morelia Neo IV β, the regular Neo IV offers a full K-leather upper,  while at the laces, the position of the eyelets has been tweaked to minimise creasing during flexion, reducing irritation during push off or directional changes.

Finally, if you are all about that traditional, the the Morelia II is for you. Its kangaroo leather gives a lightweight feel and is soft and supple to ensure an improvement in first touch and ball control. The inner moulded heel counter provides a great hold and fit, contributing the the renowned comfort of this boot.
