Dubbed ‘Pyrostorm’ for its obvious fiery graphics on the traditional star design, adidas have unveiled the new official match ball for the 21/22 Champions League.

While teams are currently ploughing their way through the qualifying rounds in the hopes of reaching the Champions League proper, they can now look at what they’d be playing with if they make it, after adidas revealed the ‘Pyrostorm’, official match ball of the UCL for the 21/22 season. Those sharp eyed enough will have already spotted the new design in the hands of Kylian Mbappe on the cover of the FIFA 22 when it was revealed last week, but now it’s been revealed properly, in all its fiery glory.

The design sticks with the traditional star design (couldn’t be anything else, could it?), and rather than the inverted designs that have been in use recent campaigns, the ‘Pyrostorm’ reverts to the classic white base, leaving the aforementioned stars to stand out with their fiery “Solar Red/Solar Yellow” graphic, bordered in black for added emphasis.
