Looking to the international tournaments that are set to play out this summer, Nike have unveiled their latest campaign ad, titled “Awaken Your Madness”, bringing Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr. together, with a guest appearance from Ronaldinho.
Yesterday we got adidas’s new ad campaign ahead of Euro 24, centred around Jude Bellingham, and today we get Nike’s offering, which takes a more global approach, featuring Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. While it comes out on the opening day of the Euros, Mbappe is the only player set to feature in that tournament, with Haaland’s Norway failing to qualify and Vini Jr. set to play in the upcoming Copa America. The ad, titled “Awaken Your Madness” plays on the “mad” theme that has run throughout some of their recent boot releases this season, culminating in this summer’s “Mad Brilliance” pack.
The ad plays on the idea that there is a link between genius and madness, and after focussing on the three players’ obsessive desire to be the best, they are greeted by Ronaldinho, decked out in all-white as the Almighty of footballing brilliance, who points out that true footballing madness comes when you play that way “when the world is watching”.
