Assassins are devastatingly fast, ruthlessly precise and sneak behind enemy lines completely undetected – all traits of Jamie Vardy's game that have resulted in his phenomenal rise to the top and in turn, made him the perfect player to be the first to lace up in Nike's new Limited Edition Camo Pack at Wembley last night.
The Leicester City striker's story is well documented this season and he's embracing his new found pressure and fame by working relentlessly hard in each game he plays. Pundits, fans, fellow players and not least Nike have all been admirers of his prolifc form in front of goal and the latter called him out last night to debut the upcoming Camo Hypervenom Phantom, a boot he took just 41 minutes to score in during England's 2-1 defeat to The Netherlands.
Set to land as part of a complete Camo takeover in April, the Hypervenom Phantom II will be joined by matching prints on the Magista Obra, Mercurial Superfly IV and the Tiempo Legend 6 as Nike land an edgy disruptive pack to head into the business end of the season with. Nike are expected to hand out the collection to a selection of their players who will join Vardy at his Camo party in the upcoming weeks.
Equipped with finishing England coloured lace tips, Vardy's camouflaged creation is usually designed to blend into its natural surroundings but Nike turn that theory upside-down with a distinctive look that will be worn by their stand-out players in the stand-out games. You can't camouflage brilliance. It's only a matter of time until kids worldwide are sporting wrist supports and Camo boots. Vardy-mania powers on.
The full Nike Camo Collection will hit selected stockists on April 12.
