Venturing into deepest darkest off-season we take a look back at the past week of football to pick out who was wearing what. As Germany clinched the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia we pick out our selection of the latest, custom and most random boots on show.
Ronaldinho (Barcelona Legends) Nike Tiempo 7
Ronaldinho displayed his full locker of showboating tricks last week as Barcelona Legends took on a team of Manchester United Legends at the Camp Nou. The Brazilian legend switched straight into Nike's latest Tiempo Legend 7 football boot for the occasion – a boot that he wore throughout his illustrious career.
Rivaldo (Barcelona Legends) Mizuno Morelia Neo II
Another Brazilian legend pulled on the famous red and blue stripes for the charity game against Manchester United last week as Rivaldo was sporting the Mizuno Morelia Neo II. Just like Ronaldinho, Rivaldo has remained loyal to the brand he wore throughout his career as he switched into the lighter silo than the standard Morelia from his playing days.
Gary Medel (Chile) Nike Magista Obra II
Chile hardman Gary Medel joined in on the Chile NikeiD takeover for the 2017 Confederations Cup by lacing up a red and blue edition of the Magista Obra II to complement his nation's home kit. Medel wasn't alone in wearing custom colourways for the Final defeat to Germany; Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez and Bayern Munich's Arturo Vidal also slipped into similar designs.
Jean Beausejour (Chile) Under Armour Clutchfit 3.0
Another Chilean wearing new boots in the 1-0 final defeat to Germany on Sunday was Jean Beausejour. The former Wigan and Birmingham City wideman was laced up in the latest hi-vis Under Armour Clutchfit boot as his side ultimately had missed chances to blame for falling at the final hurdle of the Confederations Cup in Russia.
Kingsley Koman (Bayern Munich) Nike Mercurial Superfly V
Kingsley Coman was one of the first players to switch into the brand new Nike Laser Orange Pack this week as Bayern Munich stepped up their pre-season preparations. The new collection, that will see orange splashes feature across all four silos, will hit shelves later this week and will be the first on-pitch collection of the 2017/18 season for the Swoosh.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) Nike CR7 Mercurial Campeoes
Cristiano Ronaldo will join Coman in the Laser Orange Pack when he returns for pre-season, but the Real Madrid man ended his extended season last week wearing his special edition Nike CR7 Mercurial Campeões. The captain was unable to help Portugal lift the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia but his side did clinch third place, not that CR7 saves any room in his trophy cabinet for third place medals.
Benjamin Henrichs (Germany) adidas Glitch 17
Benjamin Henrichs was representing the Glitch 17 silo at the Confederations Cup as eventual Champions Germany saw off Mexico 4-1 in the semi-final. We've already seen the youngster wear an eccentric outer-skin in training, but it was a simplistic all white design that he opted for against the Mexicans.
Jonathan Dos Santos (Mexico) adidas 11Pro
Mexico's Jonathan Dos Santos was sporting the blackout feel in Russia last week as the striker remained in a blacked out edition of the adidas 11Pro from back in 2014. The 11Pro silo has since been retired by adidas but Dos Santos, who has been wearing blacked out boots for some months now, plucked a pair out of the archives as Mexico finished fourth.
Byron Gonzalo (Fuerza Amarillo) Nike Hyervenom II
Byron Gonzalo turned out in the signature Wayne Rooney Nike Hypervenom II for Ecuadorian side Fuerza Amarillo last week. The limited edition red and white 'WR250' colourway was launched to celebrate Rooney becoming Man United's all time leading goalscorer. Whether Gonzalo knows that is anyone's guess. He probably just likes the split design.
Luis Reyes (Mexico) PUMA ONE 17.1
The brand new PUMA ONE 17.1 silo got its first taste of competitive action at the 2017 Confederations Cup as PUMA supplied the model to a number of their contracted players. The boot which was released to replace the evoTOUCH and evoSPEED silhouettes found its way onto the feet of Mexico's Luis Reyes in Russia.
