Cristiano Ronaldo laced up in his Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 'Quinto Triunfo' football boots for the first time in Abu Dhabi as Real Madrid came from behind to move into the final of the 2017 Club World Cup.
An honorary signature boot that recognises Ronaldo's fifth Ballon d'Or win, the Mercurial Superfly 'Quinto Triunfo' serves up fresh signature CR7 style with a shimmering gold upper decorated with individual recognition from his previous Ballon d'Or success. Fitting then that the boot's debut would come in Abu Dhabi, a city known for it's flashy lifestyle.
Ronaldo opened his Club World Cup account with a second half goal that brought Real Madrid level after Al Jazeera took a surprise first half lead. Breaking more record in the process, the goal made Ronaldo the all time Clubs World Cup leading goal scorer. The boots featured Ronaldo's familiar custom collar construction, with the names of his three daughters etched across the inside of the boot.
With just 1,000 pairs available worldwide, the boots arrive shortly after Ronaldo picked up the FIFA Best Player Award and the Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 'Melhor' in the process. The CR7 logo is repositioned form the instep of the boot to the heel, where it's joined by the words "Quinto Triunfo" (Fifth Triumph) and respective number of the limited edition boot - in Ronaldo's case, "001".
Ronaldo will make at least one more appearance in the boots for the 2017 Club World Cup final against Grêmio, before returning to Madrid to face Barcelona in the first Clásico of the season at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 'Quinto Triunfo' are available from December 14th via sign-up from Pro:Direct Soccer.
