Global Boot Spotting

On a weekend that saw a "Cold Blooded" takeover we're picking out the players who were making noise with their boot choices. From the latest colourways, to the throwback icons, to the very best of the custom creations. It's Monday, you know the drill...

Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) adidas Nemeziz 17+

The adidas "Cold Blooded" Pack was launched this weekend as all contracted adidas athletes switched into their respective new silos. Bernardo Silva opted for the laceless Nemeziz 17+ as Manchester City beat Cardiff to reach the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona) adidas Predator 18+

The new "White/Red/Black" Predator 18+ headlined the new "Cold Blooded" collection as the second colourway of the new Predator took to pitches. Ivan Rakitic was amongst the lead players in the laceless 18+ as Barcelona beat Alaves 2-1.

Leo Messi (Barcelona) adidas Nemeziz Messi 17.1

Leo Messi was presented with his own signature "Cold Blooded" colourway, because, well because he's different. The Barca number ten followed the script as per usual by scoring the winner direct from a free kick to give adidas their dream start in his new design.

Enver Cenk Sahin (St. Pauli) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX

St. Pauli's Enver Cent Sahin was sporting some custom game at the weekend as he laced up in his own Nike Mercurial Vapor IX design. Sahin has whipped up a smart NikeiD "Black/Red" colourway for the season. Clean.

Aziz Bouhaddouz (St. Pauli) Under Armour Clutchfit 3.0

Another St. Pauli player to catch our eye at the weekend was Aziz Bouhaddouz wearing the upcoming colourway of the Under Armour Cluthfit 3.0 series. The upper of Bouhaddouz's boot appear to feature a much smoother material than previous editions.

Shaun Williams (Millwall) adidas Glitch 18

More Glitch boots are appearing on pitches every week. The dynamic two-piece boot construction has caught the imagination of players by allowing them to switch the outer-skins of the boot each game. The latest player to sport the silo being Millwall's Shaun Williams.

Mo Salah (Liverpool) adidas X 17+

The X 17+ completed the adidas "Cold Blooded" collection with all Three Stripe speed players switching into the new colourway this weekend. Mo Salah continued his goalscoring form but Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup at home to West Brom.

Frank Nouble (Newport County) Nike Mercurial Vapor III

Frank Nouble took things back to 2006 on Saturday night by lacing up in the Nike Mercurial Vapor III in Newport's FA Cup tie with Tottenham. That iconic third-gen design will be gracing the Wembley turf soon as Newport fought to a 1-1 draw wth Spurs in South Wales.

Adama Traore (Middlesbrough) Nike Mercurial Superfly V

Adama Traore has to take boot of the week with his incredible custom Nike Mercurial Superfly V design. The trippy black and white graphic dominated the upper of the boot as Traore showed that bright colourways aren't the only way to catch the eye.

Donny van de Beek (Ajax) adidas X 17+

The "White/Red/Black" colour combination fronted the mainstream adidas "Cold Blooded" collection but the Three Stripes also dropped a low-key alternative X 17+ colourway this week. The darker design was worn by Ajax's Donny van de Beek as his side drew 0-0 with Utrecht.
