The countdown to Superfly season continues as Kylian Mbappe joins the pre-game party. The Paris Saint-Germain striker is lacing up in the next-generation Mercurial Superfly VI as Nike give their players a taste of their summer treats.

With the launch imminent, Nike are rolling out the final product to their leading Mercurial players to become accustomed to before an expected reveal towards the end of the domestic season. Preparations for a World Cup are always made with the lights off at Nike HQ as the Swoosh keep their summer showpieces under wraps, and expect that to remain the same until they pull open the curtains in typical A-list fashion.

Kylian Mbappe will be one of the leading Nike players hitting up Russia in the summer, along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. CR7 will be the headline Superfly man, and Neymar the face of the lo-cut Vapor, but Mbappe is yet to declare his position on either side. After wearing the the blackout Vapor XII last month the French youngster has now got to grips with the sixth-generation Superfly.

Mbappe's latest boots display some of the more distinct changes that Nike have activated on the Superfly. The biggest difference in comparison to the fifth-gen Superfly comes on the collar that features a different cut shape to what we've seen previously. The upper has also been given some noticeable changes. A smoother material replaces the “Speed Rib” 3D texture of the Superfly V, and the Swoosh is repositioned.

More obviously, the boots show that Nike haven't taken the Mercurial Superfly VI into the world of laceless design. Flyknit will remain one of the boots key components, with further new technologies sure to be introduced upon full reveal.
