Global Boot Spotting

Looking back on the past seven days of football to call out the boots that have caught our eye. From the latest colourways, to the custom creations, to the limited edition designs. It's Monday, it's Boot Spotting. Let's see who made the cut...

Reiss Nelson (Arsenal) adidas Glitch 17

Arsenal took a 3-0 lead home from Ostersunds FK in the Europa League on Thursday night. Arsene Wenger shuffled his pack in Sweden to give Reiss Nelson a run out in the latest adidas Glitch 17 'Nocturnal Skin' colourway.

Jody Morris (Chelsea) Nike Hypervenom GX

Chelsea Under 18 Manager Jody Morris was keeping it down with the kids this week by wearing the limited edition Nike Hypervenom GX for his side's cup tie with Everton. The Hypervenom GX was launched last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the '97 Air GX football boot.

Paulo Dybala (Juventus) adidas X 17+

Paulo Dybala returned from injury this weekend in Juventus' 1-0 win over Torino. After wearing black out boots for most of last season Dybala switched into adidas before his injury. An announcement with the Three Stripes was most likely imminent, but the injury delayed anything official. Expect something soon now that he's returned to action in the Cold Blooded X 17+.

Adama Traore (Middlesbrough) Nike Mercurial Superfly V

Adama Traore continues to sport his incredible custom Nike Mercurial Superfly V design. The trippy black and white graphic dominated the upper of the boot as Traore showed that bright colourways aren't the only way to catch the eye.

Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United) Nike Mercurial Vapor 360

Has Romelu Lukaku finally signed a contract with Nike? The United striker has been in and out of Nike and adidas boots all season without being signed to a brand. Lukaku would have no doubt received offers but is likely playing hardball. The fact he switched into the new Mercurial Vapor 360 to score twice against Huddersfield this weekend suggests he may be close to a deal with the Swoosh.

Jordi Alba (Barcelona) adidas ACE 17.1

Jordi Alba made a surprise switch back into the "Solar Green/Black" adidas ACE 17.1 this weekend as Barcelona beat Eibar 2-0. The Spanish full back has been wearing the X 17.1 for the entire 17/18 season but fancied mixing things up as Barca took another step closer to La Liga title.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) PUMA Future 18.1 NetFit

Marco Reus was back in action this weekend as his goal was enough to see off Borussia Monchengladbach. Reus has been installed as one of the leading players for the new PUMA Future 18.1 NetFit silo; a boot designed to allow the players to lace the boot however they like to get the perfect fit. So, what does Reus do? Takes out the laces completely. Cheers, Marco.

Jacob Butterfield (Sheffield Wednesday) Umbro Medusae II Elite

There was Umbro representation in the FA Cup fifth round at the weekend as Sheffield Wednesday drew with Swansea at Hillsborough. The Owls' Jacob Butterfield was sporting the Triadic Pack edition of the Medusae II Elite boot.

Marco Asensio (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Superfly 360

Marco Asensio scored a brace in the Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 as Real Madrid beat Real Betis 5-3 in La Liga. CR7 was also on the scoresheet wearing the launch colourway of the new-generation boot.

Emily Sonnett (Sydney FC) adidas Predator 18.1

Emily Sonnett was wearing the women's exclusive colourway of the adidas Predator 18.1 this week against Melbourne City. The "Vapour Grey/Maroon" combination is currently the official on-pitch option in the women's game, but isn't available in a laceless 18+ option.
