With the focus on the international break adidas have snuck under the radar by giving a pair of next-generation prototype boots to Inter Milan's Miranda. The Brazilian defender was sporting the blackout laceless boot in training on Thursday, revealing part of an upcoming adidas concept.

The mystery and currently unreleased boots are the latest line of laceless boots from the Three Stripes, with adidas already offering three of their four silos in slip-on form. The current generations of the Predator, X and Nemeziz are all laceless, leaving just the COPA series as the brand's laced boot. Are adidas about to take the COPA to laceless town? Or are we looking at a next-gen of the aforementioned trio?

Of course, we could even be looking at a totally new boot series all together from the brand. For what it's worth, Miranda has been wearing the laced Predator 18.1 to kick off the 18/19 season and he will remain in those when he returns to match action – his blackout boots, which feature distinct cushioning and wavy upper aesthetic are in the pipeline, but are not expected to be an imminent release. We're thinking more 2019.

The leather upper indicates that it could be a control or comfort silo, and the mid-collared sock construction will no doubt further enhance the overall fit. One to watch, this. Stay tuned for more on the mystery laceless silhouette...
