If you receive your very own special edition signature boot, you’ve got to show them off on the big stage, and Sadio Mané did just that as he debuted his New Balance Furon 4.0 ‘Bambaly’ boots on pitch against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The ‘Bambaly’, named after the village in which Mane grew up, honours his Senegalese roots, taking the colours of the national flag for a vibrant, stand-out look. New Balance have been quick to present their main man, Mané, with his very own signature boot following his impressive displays in the Champions League final and the World Cup last season.
When looking for a match to show off his stand-out new toys to the world, Mané would’ve been hard pushed to beat the floodlit Parc des Princes for a crunch match with the star-studded PSG. Sure he could've waited for the Merseyside Derby at the weekend, but mixing it with some of the most high profile players in the world is serious exposure for New Balance.
The Furon 'Bambaly' edition stood out on pitch, outshining even the Nike Mercurial Superfly GS 360 that adorned the feet of Kylian Mbappe. Unfortunately though, despite being taken down for the penalty that led to Liverpool’s only goal, Mané and his signature Furon’s were unable to help the Reds avoid defeat at the hands of Neymar, Mbappe and Co.
Only released in size 8 (UK) – Mané’s size – the ‘Bambaly’ was a very limited release, with only 90 pairs being made available globally, and all reports point to the fact that they sold out almost instantly.
Good luck if you’re trying to get hold of a pair, you're gonna need it.
