Marcus Rashford and James Milner have stepped out in Nike’s latest innovation project this week. Two players at opposite ends of their careers, Nike are using the full demographic of their roster to test the new boots as they get put through the tests at Manchester United’s and Liverpool’s training grounds.
This is the second look Marcus Rashford has given us of the mystery boots. The Manchester United striker previously laced up in them in early October along with Chelsea’s Willian. For Milner, an unsuspecting player you’d expect Nike to use for what looks like an attacking boot, it was his first time getting to grips with them.
With rumours of the Hypervenom having had its day, there’s suggestions that Nike are ready to re-shuffle their boot stable in 2019. The Hypervenom series originally launched in 2013 and a five-year stint is decent shift in terms of a modern market lifespan.
Packing a whole lot of T90 Laser IV vibes with noticeable shooting technologies built into the upper, the boots also feature a lo-cut construction with visible laces towards the top of the traditional tongue area. Nike unsurprisingly are keeping any official information under wraps for now, but the new silhouette looks poised to join the Mercurial, Tiempo and PhantomVSN as Nike's updated quartet for 2019.
In related news, Melwood is the place to be for boot spotting this week following Bobby Firmino appearing in a new colourway for the Nemeziz.
Stay tuned for all the latest on the unreleased Nike football boots.
