Juventus and Argentina hitman Paulo Dybala has switch into the new COPA70 boots that dropped earlier this week, ahead of him wearing competitively when Juventus return to Serie A action this weekend.
The COPA70 dropped earlier this week as adidas started the celebrations of their 70th anniversary year in style. As the face of the COPA brand since it’s reinvention, Paulo Dybala will be the only adidas athlete to wear the limited edition boot in a match. He’s been testing them out in training this week and they look just as good as you’d imagine.
The boot pays homage to the classic and timeless silhouette of the Copa Mundial, while also introducing a modern twist with the use of Primeknit, representing the evolution of the adidas brand over the last 70 years and capturing the Three Stripes principle of ‘authenticity to progression’.
Clearly Dybala has become so accustomed to his laceless COPA 19+ boots that he has forgotten how the stringy things work. He has, however, opted for the longer laces in a double-wrapped-around approach. Good lad. Just needs to remember how to tie them now...
From a distance the COPA70 looks exactly like the old-school COPA Mundial series, it's only upon closer inspect you can appreciate the Primeknit detailing and COPA 19+ soleplate which transforms the silhouette into a beautiful remastered piece of football nostalgia. Don't get them too muddy Paulo, can stick them on eBay for a decent re-sale.
