As we look back on a weekend of early season silverware we pick out our selection of custom, latest and most creative footwear on show. Add to that some requisite throwback flavour and you've got yourself some Boot Spotting. Let's go...
Serdar Gurler (Goztepe) Nike Mercurial Vapor NJR Silencio
With Neymar out injured it fell to Goztepe winger Serdar Gurler to debut the brand new signature Nike Mercurial Vapor 'NJR Silencio' this week. The design of the boots is inspired by Neymar's 'Shhh' tattoo on his finger. He'll switch into them on his comeback.
Alan Browne (Preston North End) Nike Mercurial Vapor XII
From one signature Mercurial to another, with PNE's central midfielder Alan Browne pulling on the Nike Mercurial Vapor 'Touch of Gold' that was designed for Luka Modric following his Ballon d'Or success. He wore them in Preston's match against Millwall, a game that the Lilywhites won 1-3.
Valentino Lazaro (Hertha Berlin) adidas Glitch 19
Released this week, Hertha Berlin's attacking midfielder Valentino Lazaro decided to personalise his game with the adidas Glitch 19 "Exhibit Skin" in his side's clash with Bayern Munich. A clean skin with the vamp glowing a bit when hit by direct light.
Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United) PUMA ONE 19.1
PUMA released the MVP pack for last weekend's NBA All-Stars game, with Lukaku and Griezmann wearing them in recent fixtures. Seems like Lukaku has taken a shine to them though as he was still wearing them in Unted's 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Michail Antonio (West Ham) Umbro Velocita 4
Michail Antonio chipped in with the last goal in a 3-1 victory over London rivals Fulham on Friday night, and he did so in Umbro's latest look for the Velocita 4, a "White/Cherry Red/Ibiza Blue" colourway that dropped last week.
Dominick Drexler (Koln) adidas F50 adizero
Koln's Attacking midfielder Dominick Drexler has been wearing the adidas F50 adizero 'There Will Be Haters' colourway in Bundesliga fixtures recently. Drexler scored in them this week against SV Sandhausen in a 3-1 win for his side.
Wilfred Zaha (Crystal Palace) Nike Mercurial Vapor GS360
Taking to the pitch in the 2018 Mercurial Vapor GreenSpeed 360, Wilf Zaha bagged a brace this week as Crystal Palace emphatically beat Leicester City 1-4, hammering home the final nail in Claude Puel's coffin.
Sebastien Villa (Boca Juniors) Nike Mercurial Vapor GS360
Rounding off a GreenSpeed double header, Sebastien Villa took to the pitch in Boca Junior's match with Atletico Tuchman in a pair of Nike iD Mercurial GS360. Matching up nicely with the Boca kit, he opted for a yellow vamp and blue body.
Carlos Tevez (Boca Juniors) Nike Tiempo Legend VII
Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the match for Boca Juniors in their fixture against Defensa y Justicia, and he did so in what appears to be a self-customised pair of Nike Tiempo boots. Scruffy.
Samuel Umtiti (Barcelona) PUMA Future 19.1
From one custom job to another of sorts, with Barca's French defender Samuel Umtiti wearing a pair of PUMA Future 19.1 that he's attempted to black out. Umtiti's been a Nike player, lacing up in the PhantomVSN this season up until now, but this suggests his days with the Swoosh may be over...
Alex Revell (Stevenage) Nike PhantomVNM
Ending things this week with the rarely-seen-on-pitch Nike Phantom VNM 'Black Lux'. Not supported by leading Nike players on pitch, it's in the League Two match between Stevenage and Northampton Town that we found it on the feet of veteran striker Alex Revell. Despite scoring, Revell was unable to stop his side losing 1-2. Looked the biz though.
