Football is back. Despite having several international tournaments to keep us going over the summer, it feels good to get that weekly dose of the game we love. And of course, with its return is a bunch of new releases, throwback classics, custom creations and special edition boots. It’s Monday, it’s Boot Spotting. Order is restored. Let’s go…
Eden Hazard (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII
Despite failing to get on the score sheet, new boy Eden Hazard was able to show off his customised Mercurial Vapors as Real Madrid emphatically sealed their third place finish in the Audi Cup with a 5-3 win against Fenerbahce.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (MLS All-Stars) adidas X 19.1
Zlatan played in the recent MLS All-Star game against Atletico Madrid, a match the U.S side lost 3-0, and he did so in a pair of adidas X 19.1 from the recently released 'Hard Wired' pack. He's known as a Nike athlete, so does this mean that he's jumped from the Swoosh ship?
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) PUMA King Platinum
Sergio Aguero returned to training this week following his international exploits with Argentina, but not in time to play in the Community Shield victory against Liverpool. For training though he was seen wearing the PUMA King Platinum, as opposed to his usual choice of PUMA ONE.
Elif Elmas (Napoli) Nike Mercurial Vapor VII
Napoli new boy, Elif Elmas is adjusting to life in Italy by pulling out a pair of Nike Mercurial Vapor VII from 2012. This is a Mercurial generation that first hit shelves when Elmas was just seven years old.
Zain Westbrooke (Coventry City) Nike T90 Laser IV
Zain Westbrooke fired Coventry to an opening day win against Southend United as League One got underway for the 2019/20 season, and he took his goal nicely, slotting home from outside the area in 2011's T90 Laser IV. Accuracy and power still working.
Marc Marino (Campbelltown City) Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII
NPL South Australia side, Campbelltown City picked up a win against local rivals West Adelaide on the weekend, and striker Marc Marino wore the lesser-seen limited-edition "Laser Orange/Black/Hyper Crimson" release of the new Mercurial Vapor that dropped shortly after the "New Lights" debut.
Chris Lines (Northampton Town) adidas Predator adiPower
New season, new... old boot for Chris Lines. Cobblers midfielder Lines has been known to dust off an old pair of Predators here and there, and for his side's League Two opener against Walsall, he pulled out the adidas Predator adiPower from 2011.
Mat Sadler (Walsall) Nike Hypervenom Phantom III
Walsall managed to come out on top against Northampton, winning 1-0, and during the match defender Mat Sadler was seen wearing the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III from the 2017 'Motion Blur' pack.
Alex Dobre (Bournemouth) Nike Mercurial Superfly IV
Hoping to make an impression in preseason, Bournemouth youngster Alex Dobre has been seen playing in the eye-catching Nike Mercurial Superfly IV from the 'Liquid Chrome' pack from 2015.
Jack Robinson (Nottingham Forest) adidas Copa Gloro 17
