Continuing to experiment with his football footwear, out-of-contract Granit Xhaka showed up for Arsenal training today in the upcoming next-gen PUMA Future prototype, adding the German brand to his list of tested boots.
Since his contract with Under Armour ended back at the beginning of September, Granit Xhaka has been testing out several different brands as he takes his time before settling on his chosen boot, switching between Mizuno, Nike and adidas. Well now PUMA can be added to that list, after the Swiss international trained in the upcoming next generation PUMA Future prototype.
The new PUMA Future has been seen on the feet of several pros over the last couple of months, with the likes of Neymar and Robert Lewandowski being the latest big names to test them out. So this latest glimpse on the feet of Xhaka doesn’t really tell us any more about the boots. What it does do though, is show that PUMA are still busy recruiting players.
Xhaka has been seen training and playing in a mix of Mizuno Morelia Morelia Neo III β, Nike Phantom VNM, Nike Mercurial Vapor XIII, and adidas Predator Mutator low, so he’s clearly keeping his options open and giving himself plenty of time to make the right decision. It will be interesting to see what he ultimately ends up in, as it certainly seems like he’s testing out these boots rather than just enjoying the freedom of not being tied down to a contract.
Expect the New PUMA Future early next year.
