Having already teased an upcoming drop with Stella McCartney earlier this week, Paul Pogba has given us a first proper look at what must be the special edition Predator Freak .1 from that collection in training ahead of United’s Champions League match against Atalanta tonight.
Paul Pogba was spotted in the adidas ‘UCL Pack’ Predator Pulse last week, but any hopes that he may have played in that boot in tonight’s Champions League fixture against Atalanta seem to be fading. Instead what it looks like we’ll be getting is the debut of his all new signature edition Predator Freak .1, designed and produced in collaboration with Stella McCartney and shown off in United’s recent training session. Not a bad trade then.
The collaboration between Pogba and Stella McCartney has been teased by the French midfielder and adidas this week, ahead of what must be an imminent release. But we now don’t have to wait for the official launch to get our first decent look at the Predator from that collection.
The design sees a combination of animal print graphics across the upper. On the lateral side is an almost leopard skin print, while that transforms across the upper into a Zebra print on the medial side that’s not a million miles away from the look of the ‘South Korea’ Nike Mercurial Superfly VII if we’re being honest. That animal theme is in keeping with what has been described as a 100 percent vegan boot, designed with sustainability at its heart.
The base of the boot is white, while that print and the DemonSkin spikes offer up flashes of colour, switching from purple to blue, with hints of orange in those spikes, and that all sits on top of the iridescent soleplate. Interestingly, there doesn't appear to be any obvious Three Stripe branding, at least not in the positions you'd usually expect to find them on a regular Predator Freak, and not anywhere that we can easily see. Certainly a unique look fitting of the flamboyant Frenchman.
Expect the Paul Pogba x adidas x Stella McCartney capsule to drop any day now...
