As the matches drop like flies all around us and we all collectively hold our breath in the hopes that football isn’t cancelled over the festive season, we manage to squeeze out one last Boot Spotting session before Christmas. You know the drill by now, let’s go…
Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) New Balance Furon v6+
Raheem Sterling got a special signature edition Furon v6+ from New Balance this week, with a design that honoured his Jamaican roots. And the City man gave them a goal-scoring debut this weekend, notching the last goal in City's 4-0 win over Newcastle.
Thiago (Liverpool) adidas Predator Pulse
Name a more classy boot and player combination in football today than Thiago and the adidas Predator Pulse from the recently released 'Legends Pack'. Can't do it, can you? Just screams that everything's under control. Sadly, the Liverpool midfielder didn't wear them in the game against Villa in midweek.
Alvaro Morata (Juventus) adidas adiPure
Being the Predator fan that he is, we would've expected Alvaro Morata to lace up in the Legends Pack Predator Pulse, but surprising us all he instead opted for the adiPure in training this week, sadly not wearing them in Juve's match against Bologna.
Arthur Melo (Juventus) adidas Predator Pulse
So where we thought Morata would opt for the Predator Pulse, teammate Arthur swooped in to pick up the slack, although again, he sadly did not stick with them for the game against Bologna.
Vincius Jr. (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor IX
Following in OG Ronaldo's footsteps, fellow Brazilian, Vinicius Jr. trained in the "Neo Lime/Crimson" colorway of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX this week. It was originally released at the end of 2013 as a tribute to R9's famous 1998 boot.
Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor X
Always a fan of a throwback Mercurial, this week Ousmane Demebele played against Elche in the Nike Mercurial Vapor X "Laser Orange" colourway. The Frenchman provided the set up the opener from a corner, with the game ending 3-2 to Barcelona.
Todd Cantrell (Norwich City) PUMA King Platinum 21
Todd Cantwell made his first start in the Premier League for some time this week, and he did so in the sleek PUMA King platinum. Performance was not quite up to his usual standard against Aston Villa, but can't fault his boot choice.
Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) adidas X Speedflow .1
In China, 11 November is affectionately known as singles day (11/11, get it?), and Adidas released a limited edition Eleven Eleven X Speedflow for the occasion. Well, better late than never, Roberto Firmino has been spotted training in the boot. Only a month late, Bobby!
Oleksandr Zinchenko (Manchester City) PUMA Ultra 1.3
The PUMA Under the Lights pack was unveiled way back at the beginning of October, but only now are players seeming to switch into the new colourways, with Oleksandr Zinchenko lacing up in the PUMA Ultra 1.3 for City's 4-0 win over Newcastle.
Lewis Dobbin (Everton) Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 Flames
18 year old Lewis Dobbin came off the bench for Everton in their game against Chelsea this week, and he instantly caught the eye for his choice of footwear, lacing up in the latest Kylian Mbappé signature edition Nike Mercurial Superfly 8 'Flames'.
Callum Robinson (West Bromwich Albion) adidas Predator Accelerator ZZ
Rounding off this week's Boot Spotting with a touch of class, courtesy of West Brom's Callum Robinson, who turned up to training in the golden adidas Predator Accelerator that was released for Zinedine Zidane as part of the 25 years of Predator celebration. Early Christmas present? Yeah, we reckon so...
