Global Boot Spotting

The latest round of Boot Spotting sees some new and upcoming releases on show during the women’s internationals, while there were also some nice special editions and throwbacks on show elsewhere. It’s Monday, so let’s get on with it, shall we?

Julie Biesmans (Belgium Women) PUMA Ultra Ultimate

Arriving as part of the collaboration with Liberty, PUMA unveiled the Ultra Ultimate at the beginning of the month, and Belgium's Julie Biesmans laced them up in the game against England.

Jess Carter (England) PUMA Future Z 1.4

Although she wasn't part of the match day setup, England's Jess Carter was spotted in the PUMA x Liberty Future Z 1.4, completing the lineup with the previous Ultra Ultimate. Both boots feature bespoke LIBERTY floral patterns and customised logos.

Kadidatou Diani (France Women) adidas X Speedportal .1

Another sighting of the next generation adidas X Speedportal, this time on the feet of France women midfielder Kadidatou Diani, who laced up in the launch colourway of the new boot. Still no sign of an official drop yet though...

Pauline Peyraud-Magnin (France Women) adidas predator Edge +

Lining up alongside the next generation adidas X Speedportal will be the Predator Edge, which looks set to arrive in an equally loud colourway. An early look came courtesy of Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, who slipped into the laceless '+' model in training. Expect this one imminently.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City) PUMA Ultra 1.3

Should we read anything into Erling Haaland wearing the PUMA Ultra 1.3 in some of his promo pics following his switch to Man City? Probably not, but the Norwegian's boot future remains up in the air, and his switch to PUMA-sponsored City may have some sway.

Grace Moloney (Republic of Ireland Women) Nike Hypervenom Phantom II

Have to applaud the efforts of Republic of Ireland keeper Grace Moloney, who opted for the Nike Hypervenom Phantom II from the 'Lightning Storm' pack, which dropped back in 2015, matching the green hues of her national team training wear.

Louise Quinn (Republic of Ireland) PUMA Future Z 1.2

Sticking with the Republic of Ireland camp, and centre back Louise Quinn laced up in the PUMA Future Z 1.2 from the 'First Mile' pack. An underrated colourway that doesn't get enough attention, the 'First Mile' pack saw both the Future Z and Ultra made entirely from recycled bottles diverted from landfill and oceans.

Adam Szalai (Hungary) Nike Hypervenom I

England were humbled not once, but twice by Hungary over the recent UEFA Nations League fixtures, and veteran Adam Szalai led the line for the latter in some Nike Hypervenom Phantom I, from the 'Shine Through' pack. Certainly did that.

Mubarak Wakaso (Ghana) Nike Mercurial NJR Silencio

Ghana's Mubarak Wakaso was the second player to see red in the not-so-friendly friendly against Chile during the recent international break. But before that his foot wear was noted, with the midfielder wearing the Neymar signature Nike Mercurial NJR Silencio.

Cafu (Team Roberto Carlos) adidas Predator Accelerator

Just Cafu rocking a pair of Adidas Predator Accelerators in the charity game between an all-star Ronaldinho 11 and Roberto Carlos 11.
