Preparations for the big kick off are well underway, and with players linking up with their national teams, we’ve got a sneak preview of what looks to be the launch colourway of the next generation adidas Predator, courtesy of Leon Goretzka, Gabriel Jesus and Weston McKennie.

With the World Cup set to get underway on Sunday, most pros are making the switch into brands’ boot packs for the tournament. But rather than make that switch, Leon Goretzka, Gabriel Jesus and Weston McKennie are among a few athletes that have instead changed into what looks to be the unreleased next generation adidas Predator, giving us an early preview of the boot as well as what looks to be the launch colourway.

Back in October we got a look at a blacked out prototype of the new Predator on the feet of Aston Villa's Emi Buendia. Now though, we get to see a full colour version, and it lands in a clean white base with black accents. As expected, it looks like the boot has once again had some significant retooling, abandoning the stripped rubber element approach of the Edge in favour of a look that goes back to something more akin to the Mutator and Freak that preceded it.

As has become something of a tradition in the calendar, adidas usually release the next generation of Predator in January, and as we near that date it looks like we’re getting an extra early look at the new silo. Does this mean it will be released ahead of the usual new year date? Equally, will it be in use at the World Cup? Time will tell on both counts.
