Roberto Firmino is set to bring the curtain down on what has been an incredibly successful eight-year spell with Liverpool Football Club, and for his last appearances with the Reds, adidas have provided him with a special signature pair of X Speedportal boots.
Liverpool play their last home game of the season this weekend when they welcome Aston Villa to Anfield. It will be an emotional time for many, but none more so than Roberto Firmino, who will bid farewell to the club with whom he has won every trophy available over his eight year spell. To commemorate the occasion, adidas have created a special signature X Speedportal boot for the Brazilian, which he’s been breaking in during training this week.
The boots arrive in a red and white split in an obvious nod to Liverpool’s primary colours, while it also conjures images of Messi’s signature Adizero from 2013, albeit inverting the colour positions, with the Three Stripe branding appearing in red on white, unlike the Messi boot which was the reverse.
The wording “Bobby Firmino” appears in white on the red portion of the forefoot (the medial side), and it also features a small, subtle Brazilian flag near the rear of the collar and a number 9 on the rear lateral side.
Firmino has cemented his position as a club legend at Liverpool, and while his next club has yet to be determined, he has been a joy to watch in the Premier League, with his Samba style often being the key to unlocking defences over the years. Here’s hoping he gets some minutes on the pitch and a fitting farewell.
