With the last matchday of the league phase in the Champions League, it was a crazy week of football and a great week to be a football fan. From unreleased teasers to throwback silos, here’s our pick of the action for this week’s Boot Spotting.
Nawaf Boshal (Al Nassr) Nike Mercurial Vapor XVI Unreleased
The Al Nassr Full-back gave us our first look at an unreleased Mercurial Vapor XVI. With a pastel purple body highlighted with green accents, this colourway is unlike any of this silo before. The words 'Nike United' can be seen on the lateral side of the boot, is this maybe another chapter of the 'Nike United' initiative that was unveiled before the women's World Cup. I guess we will have to wait and see...
Quentin Merlin (Marseille ) adidas Predator LL Elite Stealth Victory
Merlin donned the new Stealth Victory colourway of laceless Preds this weekend as his side went on to beat Lyon 3-2. A slick colourway to say the least. With all the hype around Full-Tongue Predators, I think the laceless silo needs a bit more attention.
Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest) Skechers SKX 01 Elite
Anthony Elanga take a bow. Since arriving at Nottingham Forest this guy has played a huge part in getting the club to where it is right now. Another top display from the winger this weekend with a hattrick of assists in a 7-0 thrashing, all whilst wearing Skechers SKX 01 in the purple/black colourway.
Kaká (World Legends) adidas Predator FT Elite YotS
The Brazilian Icon stepped onto the pitch once more for the Lunar New Year Cup this weekend, lacing up the special edition Year of the Snake Predator. A magic boot for a magic player. It's nice to see Kaká hasn't lost his touch.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) PUMA Future 8 Ultimate
Rogers has been wearing PUMA boots for a months now, and what a few months it has been for the 22 year old. Last week saw Rogers cement his name into the 'rising stars' conversation as he scored his first ever hat trick in the Champions League. Surely we will be seeing him named as an official PUMA athlete soon?
Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusan) New Balance Furon v8
The newest member of the New Balance family was spotted wearing the Furon v8's latest colourway this week. Looks like he is already comfortable in them, contributing a goal to the team's win in the Bundesliga this weekend.
Reo Hatate (Celtic) Mizuno Morelia Neo IV Beta Made In Japan
The Celtic midfielder spent his champions league night rocking the Made in Japan Mizuno's in a Celtic green and white colourway. Easily one of the cleanest colour combinations we've seen from Mizuno and it looked even better under the lights.
Emirhan Topçu (Beşkitaş) adidas Predator FT Elite Polar Victory
Topçu was one of the first pros to show off the brand new Polar Victory Predators last week as he debuted them during Beşkitaş' Europa League clash with FC Twente. Heartbreaking to see the stunning white boots covered in mud, he better get cleaning...
Beth Mead (Arsenal) Nike Mercurial Vapor XVI Elite Mad Energy
The England star helped her team to a dramatic 4-3 victory vs Manchester City yesterday whilst wearing the vibrant Mad Energy Mercurial Vapor's. The iconic swoosh aided her in the assist Mead provided for the match-winning goal.
Antony (Real Betis) PUMA Ultra 5 Ultimate
Antony was wearing his typical Ultras with brand new threads this weekend as he made his debut for Real Betis since signing on loan. A successful debut, the Brazilian was awarded man of the match after terrorising Atlético's defence the whole game. A great start to life in Spain.
Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal) adidas Predator FT Elite Pure Victory
Arsenal fans love to see this one coming. Hale End providing once again for the Gunners as academy boy Lewis-Skelly was amongst the goals in a big win against Manchester City. Although, I'm not sure if it was the goal or the celebration that was the best part of the night ... Haaland watch out.
Daniel Muñoz (Crystal Palace ) Nike Mercurial X
Every week we look forward to seeing what Daniel Muñoz steps out onto the pitch wearing, with his love for an old-school Mercurial becoming obvious. This week, Muñoz wore Mercurial Vapor X's in the crimson/violet colourway – a boot that lit up the pitch in the 15/16 season. Nice work again Daniel.
