After months of rumours of a possible ending deal, Rodrygo has practically confirmed his move away from long-standing partner Nike as the Brazilian forward rocked up to the first day of Real Madrid’s preseason donning a fresh pair of adidas F50’s. It’s looking like game over for the Swoosh.

Real Madrid is officially back at the training ground after a rather short break, ready to start preparations for a big season ahead. Some of their latest signings and shining stars were all on show, however Rodrygo was the one to turn heads this morning. The Brazilian forward was spotted donning a pair adidas F50’s, practically confirming the end of a long-standing partnership with Nike. So, is Rodrygo heading towards a deal with the Three Stripes?

Lots of questions have surrounded Rodrygo over the past few months, with both club and boot deals rumoured to be up in the air. Well, the Brazilian is back training with Los Blancos so it looks like the club side has been decided, but what we are interested in is the boots. Rodrygo has been wearing Nike boots as long as he’s been in the spotlight, signing on a long-term deal with the Swoosh as one of their brightest young stars. But cracks started to show a few months back, as the Real forward was spotted lacing black-out Mercurials, rather than the latest colourway as most Nike athletes do. If you know, you know. Black-out boots during rumours of a deal ending usually only means one thing – confirmed. Rodrygo then followed this with a pair of white-out Mercs, further promoting the rumours of a move.

The dust slightly settled over the summer, with the player even donning the latest colourway during Real Madrid’s spell in the Club World Cup in June. But today we get the confirmation as Rodrygo rocks up to the first day of pre-season in rival boots, the adidas F50. So, is the Brazilian hinting at a move to the Three Stripes? Or is this simply a testing period? A free agent working out what he wants to commit to moving forward. Either way, we will be keeping an eye out for Rodrygo.
