Mesut Özil Trains In Mystery adidas Boot

Arsenal midfielder test drives unidentified adidas boots

Arsenal's Mesut Özil was snapped training in a mystery adidas boot at the club's London Colney Training Ground this week. The all black prototype is currently in the very first stages of on pitch testing and adidas are keeping their cards close to their chest at present.

adidas have leant on Özil on numerous occasions in the past to seek feedback on their new designs, and their latest boot for the German international to run the rule over has been wrapped in a blanket of mystery by the brand.

All indications would point to the next generation Predator but Özil, along with other players such as Per Mertesacker and Xavi have already given us a glimpse of that and it appears to be different to the boot Özil is training in here.

A limited edition release? An alternative Pred prototype? Perhaps. The most distinctive characteristic of the boot, apart from looking synthetic, are the white dots scattered around the front of the foot, which looks to be a technology to aid first touch. A World Cup boot? Apparently not, all adidas are confirming at present is that this boot is scheduled to drop in 2015.
