German striker spotted training in mystery adidas f50 model
With attention firmly on what boots we're going to see in Brazil this summer, adidas have given us something to get excited for post World Cup. When there's a new adizero in town Lukas Podolski is never too far away and the Arsenal striker and f50 favourite has given us our closest look yet at what adidas have lined up for their speed silo.
The current adizero f50 model and fifth in the long-standing series, launched in November 2013. Since then it's been a crazy period for the silo with signature colourways and special editions. The next-gen f50 is on the horizon but we're confident that the boots Podolski is wearing here isn't them. The blackout boots on the feet of Arsenal's no.9 feature a one-layer synthetic, almost carbon-fibre-esque upper with a unique pinstripe design and are tipped to be released well after the next-gen F50 and even as far away as the 2015/16 season.

The adidas SPEEDFOIL technology that featured (albeit intermediately) as one of the key tech stories on the existing model isn't present as adidas turn to a one-piece synthetic upper that upon inspection has similarities to the material used on the f50 'Carnaval' editions.
For the World Cup adidas will lead with the current adizero f50 model that will make up part of the brand's anticipated tournament pack - we'll give you the first official look at that in a couple of weeks. But as we head into the 2014/15 season the three stripes will refresh both their f50 and Predator silos - two updates that boot fans have high expectations for.
