More indications of an adidas shake-up as Thomas Müller is spotted testing black-out prototype boots.
Thomas Müller has become the second player in a week to be snapped testing a blacked-out adidas prototype as more clues begin to surround the brands potential 2015 boot line-up. In contrast to Xabi Alonso's mystery boots, the Bayern striker has been hooked up with a slim-profile silhouette that draws obvious comparisons to the f50 adizero. It's the first time pictures of this prototype have surfaced, giving us our first look at the upcoming innovations beginning to creep out of adidas HQ.
The biggest talking point is of course the new material surrounding the topline area of the boot. First inspection reveals a sock-like material that covers three quarters of the collar, merging with the main upper of the boot on the outside heel. We know what you're thinking and you don't need us to tell you where we've seen something similar before! It's a design feature that's dominated the year and now it looks like adidas could soon collide with their great rivals in this area of innovation.
More familiar features include what looks like a one-piece synthetic upper with an added texture across the mid-foot and towards the front of the toe box.The boots could represent one of the biggest shifts in the adidas boot line-up for a long time and are sure to be a hot topic of conversation as we head into the new year.
Stay tuned for more on Müller's mystery prototype boots as adidas begin to show their cards for 2015. Let us know what you think of Müller's boots in the comments below.
