Has Xabi Alonso given us our first glimpse at adidas' next boot innovation? The Bayern Munich midfielder trained ahead of the Champions League clash against Man City wearing a blacked-out adidas prototype sparking speculation of a new silo for 2015.
When a prototype first appears on the training pitch it's usually already a couple of years in the making and adidas are now in a position to begin player feedback with Alonso playing a key role in the test stage. The blacked-out prototype boots dominantly feature an all-over ridged rubber texture, a strong indication that we could be looking at a brand new silo landing next year centered around control. 
Alonso appears to be the ideal candidate to test-drive an apparent control silo having previously worn the Predator, 11Pro and Nitrocharge as he searches for the right boot to compliment his game. The mystery boot is still in the early stages of testing and it remains unclear whether it will replace a current silo or become a fifth major player for adidas.
