New Stud Configuration To Feature On 2015 adizero as Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno Trains In Prototypes.
We’ve already seen them on the feet of Luis Suarez and now Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno has joined the former Liverpool man in revealing the 2015 f50 adizero. The Spaniard has been handed a black-out prototype pair as adidas continue to gather player feedback on their sixth generation adizero ahead of their expected launch in February 2015. Photos from Liverpool’s Melwood training ground reveal what we couldn’t see from Luis Suraez’s boots - the all new 'Sprint Frame' outsole and stud configuration.
The 2015 model will be the first in the series to break away from adidas' traditional stud-pattern, with an all-new three-stud configuration coming to the rear of the boot. The four heel studs we’re so used to seeing on the adizero have been reduced to a three-stud design, with a single centre stud potentially designed for rear breaking. It also looks like adidas will return to the ‘Power Spine’ design running through the centre of the plate and connecting to the single rear stud; a feature that was scrapped for the current adizero.
Looking at the upper, adidas will also break away from traditional adizero visuals with an all-over scale print (something that’s more noticeable in the pictures of Luis Suarez). Branding has been kept to a minimum, with no three steps on either side of the boot.
Stay tuned for more on the next-generation adidas adizero F50, but in the mean time let us know your initial thoughts in the comments section below.
