Mauro Icardi becomes the latest player to lace up in the next-generation HyperVenom as Nike continue to toy with prototypes of their revamped silo as an official launch date creeps closer.
The Inter Milan forward has been training in the blacked-out prototypes for last couple of weeks and has given us a closer look at the newly-engineered silhouette, which is set to be introduced to the silo towards the end of the current season. The Nike HyperVenom II has already been spotted on the feet of Robert Lewandowski and Isco as Nike up their player feedback in the latter stages of the boot's development.
Nike share the Dynamic Fit Collar love by introducing the tech used on the Magista Obra and Superfly IV to the next-gen HyperVenom to sit in-line with the brand's elite hi-top design. Nike will continue to label the silo as an '"agility" boot as they aim the HyperVenom II at intricate players who attack at high speed and while the Dynamic Fit Collar and sock-liner will introduce Flyknit to the boot, a re-engineered synthetic upper built with Flywire cables is expected to bring new elements to the boot, with a prominent stitching pattern seen across the forefoot.
We're not expecting any dramatic overhaul to the soleplate as Nike look set to keep the foundations that made the HyperVenom a success amongst fleet-footed attackers. Using conical studs from the first series, the Nike HyperVenom II will be built for quick changes in pace and direction, and the split-toe construction that was borrowed to create the Mercurial Superfly IV. Set for a first look ahead of the 2015 UCL final it would be safe to bet that Nike will also offer the HyperVenom II in a low-cut style as they do with the Vapor X and Magista Opus.
