As adidas begin to up the player-feedback tempo on their latest innovation, new signing Theo Walcott becomes the latest pro to slip on the prototype boot, fully wrapped in black to protect its identity.
The Arsenal forward signed terms with adidas last month and was no doubt taken backstage at the adidas Innovation Lab to get a taste of what's to come. Walcott obviously like what he saw as he's wasted little time getting in on the test-phase act, sporting the same silhouette that Gareth Bale and Thomas Muller have been trialing.
Walcott's boots reveal a closer look at adidas' new silhouette that comes with a sock-like material across the collar that seemingly merges with the upper of the boot. Providing the clearest look yet at the boot the images reveal a pattern that's not too dis-similar from the 'Ghost' graphic on the current F50 adizero. We've already touched on what tech could be used for the aforementioned collar but with both Primeknit and Techfit technologies at their disposal, adidas have certainly already got the ingredients to successfully pull it off.

Walcott has yet to make an impact in the Three Stripes since signing on the dotted line with limited opportunities from the bench but will feature heavily in future adidas campaigns as adidas announced plans to install him as one of their key athletes going forward. One thing that is apparent with the 'mystery' footwear is that it looks nailed on to be marketed as a 'speed' boot when you consider that Walcott, Bale and Muller all wear the F50.
