Mesut Ozil recently unveiled his new sneaker, ‘The Cage’, created in collaboration with Italian contemporary sneaker house, Hide & Jack, and now we are exclusively giving you the chance to get your hands on a pair signed by the Arsenal playmaker himself.
Designed and created by Hide & Jack, ‘The Cage’ is a sneaker born to celebrate Ozil’s childhood and story, creating an emotional and personal connection with his past. The colour combination of dark blue and white leather was chosen to recall the city of Gelsenkirchen, where the Arsenal midfielder was born and raised, while on the heel, a gold net was designed to represent the ‘monkey cage’, a small football pitch without grass where Ozil started to play football, forging his long-lasting love affair with the sport.
The shoe has been entirely hand made in Italy by Hide & Jack’s artisans, using the best selection of Italian leather with the brand’s signature croco print. It takes 11 hours of work to make each one of the sneakers. From the M10 sewn logo on the back of the heel to the gold net printed on the dark blue calf leather, The Cage is an outstanding piece of design and quality, and now we’re giving you the chance to get your hands on a pair signed by Ozil himself.
