James Oconnell 'Season Annual' illustrations

Depicting just a couple of stand out moments from the season to date, James Oconnell has lent his illustrative hand to the football world once more.

A unique style that offers a fresh take on the creative art of football, it's Wilfried Zaha and Remi Garde that are characterised in this instance. The former having found form back at Crystal Palace at the start of the season while Remi Garde has moved away from his position of manager at loss-leaders Aston Villa.

Taking a look at the finer detail, above you can see the famous Easgle of Crystal Palace shining through while below the iconic emblem of Aston Villa has been reimagined by James in this instance. Only fitting that they hang their shirt on a peg marked by club motto 'Prepared'. A club held with such high stature and home to so many loyal fans, seeing the inevitable drop will be the result of a sad state of unprepared affairs however lets hope it offers a lifeline or reorganisation and they come back fighting.
