One beautiful element about the Le Ballon football league is the creative edge that rises to the boil. Each team given the opportunity to create and craft their own kits, this closer look takes in the badges of each team. An array for designs where the devil is very much in the detail.
Created with the help of Avery Dennison, these badges are not simply your run of the mill. A supreme standard, there's a selection of printing and production methods used on the badges that sit pretty on every shirt. Very much tactile treasures, they're something the inner designer can very much appreciate. Getting the low down from each club, we've dug a little deeper to discover the inspiration behind each design. Marvel as the badges blossom.
BLED FC - Nam Kunn (@namkunn): The spirit behind Bled FC, is football elsewhere, at home or abroad. The outline of the logo is based off the Google Maps pin that shows up on their maps.
CCC - Luc Braquet (@lucbraquet_): We are 300, like the Spartans, so we wanted to encapsulate their fighting spirit - hence the warrior on horseback. The star for our title last year is housed within the horseman’s flag.
PUBLIC HOUSE FC - Ruben Gerard (@rubengerard): The team wanted something to represent the values of the team: beer, pizza and friendship. I thought of a Pub sign with all these elements, but unfortunately I just get the pizza to fit. They were sad, so we eat pizza every time we watch a game together to make amends for this!
RIVER DUBPLATE - Nicolas Olier (@c_o_n_i) Argentina and River are super important to us, so of course we worked in their sun and the River sash. The construction of the logo is fun, it is woven with a vinyl centre which we asked for to represent all the DJ’s on our team.
ATLETICO PARIS - Yannis Gold & Mickael Krikorian (@yannisgold / mickael.krikorian) We wanted to keep it clean, elegant and sophisticated to reflect the team. ‘A’ for Atletico, and of course the Eiffel Tower.
75ERS - Steven Harrington (@s_harrington) The city of Paris is filled with French pigeons - I’ve read that there’s one pigeon for every 25 inhabitants! I wanted to place the pigeon above the shield overlooking the numbers as a guardian. But this guardian, being Parisian, is seen wearing fashionable sunglasses and whistling to his team mates - signalling his next move.
FOOT TANG CLAN - Remi Jacquaint / Benoit Henry (@lejack / @haribow1) We wanted to keep it friendly after our tough first season, while maintaining at the very least the basic elements of a football crest. The V for victory, the peace sign and the inverse of Atletico Paris (who were champions when we came last in year 1) - it was perfect!
THE GLORY HUNTERS - Tom Mac (@workbytommac) The crest was inspired by old school biker gangs and focused around the skull of a big cat - nature’s most distinguished predator.
