Taking an existing shirt design and instantly elevating it to outstanding status, artist Mats Drawing has customised the AC Milan 21/22 fourth shirt from last season, using the white panelled sections to pay homage to club legends.
The AC Milan x Nemen shirt from last season wasn’t an out and out hit. Sure it was something a little different, and we applaud that, but the fact it featured the traditional stripes of the Rossoneri, just bordered by white panels, like they had been rubbed out, or not finished at all, it just didn’t quite work. But artist Mats Drawing has seen it as the perfect canvas for his latest work, creating an homage piece to the club’s numerous legends.
Where the Nemen shirt felt a little incomplete, the ‘Legends’ shirt fills in the gaps to absolute perfection, featuring beautifully rendered pictures of players such as Maldini, Cafu, Inzaghi, Van Basten, Shevchenko, Nesta, and so many more. On the back, the names of the players are called out, while the wording “AC MILAN LEGENDS by Mats Drawings” features in the centre of the chest for a nice sign off to the design.
