Offering up some fresh spring vibes in concept form, Lumo723 have dressed up the Nike Mercurial Superfly VII in a floral, ‘Cherry Blossom’ wrap that leaves the ‘Merc’ branding firmly in place on the mid foot.
Berlin-based Lumo723 – aka Lukas Urbicht and Moritz Rose – have been busy boys lately, pumping out concept options for an adidas Predator 20+ Yeezy Boost 700 MNVN, and before that a take on the Future DNA pack with a Nike Phantom VNM Air Zoom T90 III, both of which came after a range of other belters, of which we picked our top 10 recently. Now their next instalment takes the season in its stride, with the Nike Mercurial Superfly VII ‘Cherry Blossom’.
Pink hues wrap around the 360 upper, with a falling cherry blossom graphic covering its entirety, presenting an exciting option for future possibilities. The combination of the Nike By You platform and the fully customisable Mercurial silo throw up the possibility for some ever-wilder designs, and Nike continue to experiment with what can be done, as seen with the latest Neymar signature edition. But concepts continue to lead the way for what is possible, with the only boundaries being designers imagination. The beauty of it though, is that Nike have already shown that most, if not all, are well within the realms of possibility. But while we wait for the Nike by You service to fully catch up, we can content ourselves with the world of concepts.
