Arsenal are enjoying some of the best kits around since resuming their relationship with adidas back at the start of the 19/20 season, but that hasn’t stopped some people, including concept designer SETTPACE, imagining what life would be like were they to return to Nike.
All six of Arsenal’s kits since they rejoined adidas have been up there amongst the absolute best, mixing a healthy amount of respect for the heritage of the club with some forward thinking design work. But despite this, some people are still looking elsewhere at what might be, never content with what they’ve got. Lesson for life in there somewhere…
Starting in 1994, Arsenal spent 20 years with Nike, during which time they enjoyed some of the greatest success in their illustrious history, including that memorable Invincibles season. As a result, it’s understandable that Gunners fans look upon Nike with a certain degree of fondness. The Swoosh picked up the Arsenal kit-making reins in ’94 following the club’s eight year spell with current kit suppliers adidas – so could history repeat itself, with Nike taking over from adidas down the line? If it does, concept designer SETTPACE has already imagined how things could look, with an incredibly detailed reinterpretation of the classic home look.
It’s a real change of direction for the concept creator, who’s been focussing on dream collaborations of late, with the likes of an England x Burberry shirt following on from a Juve x Gucci number and Liverpool x Mason Margiela offering, among numerous other dream team ups.
