Paraguayan artist and designer Lili Cantero has taken her talents to the adidas Nemeziz 17.1 to create a custom design for Lionel Messi. The Nemeziz upper provided the canvas for Cantero to narrate Messi's life with images of his rise to the very top of the game.

Painted by hand, the boots tell the story of Messi's career and life to date, with personal touches throughout – from childhood memories to on pitch glory. Cantero has only created one solitary pair, of which she gifted to the main man himself, and he seems pretty chuffed with them, so that's job done.

This isn't the first time Cantero has dabbled in boot customisation, far from it in fact. The artist has an impressive back-catalogue of bespoke football boot designs, ranging from commissioned pieces for professional players to celebratory designs including a tribute to the legendary 1995 Copa America wining manager Hecor Nunez.

It's in her homeland of Paraguay where Cantero is most popular, creating bespoke designs for a number of national team players, including a 100th cap design for Cristian Riveros, and an Iron Man creation for Pablo Zeballos.
