Celebrating the launch of the new Mexico kits and highlighting the women artisans from the Sierra Norte of Puebla, Mexico, adidas and Someone Somewhere have joined forces to create a powerful, hand-embroidered collection of jerseys for the Mexican National Team.
The new Mexico home and away kits from adidas are hands down some of the best designs of the year, and certainly are the strongest pairing at the 2024 Copa America tournament (in our opinion, at least). Now, on the back of Mexico’s opening Copa America win over Jamaica (a game that in our heads, at least, was a battle of the best kit designs in the competition) adidas and Someone Somewhere have revealed a unique collection of Mexico jerseys that have been hand-embroidered by women artisans from the Sierra Norte of Puebla, Mexico.
The collection celebrates Mexican cultural heritage and aims to honour the remarkable work of Mexican artisans. It particularly highlights the embroidery techniques of these artisans, who usually learn their craft from their mothers or grandmothers. Through this collaboration, the goal is to significantly contribute to the well-being of these artisans by showcasing their extraordinary skills and traditions to the world.
Each shirt has more than 11 hours of hand embroidery work, symbolically representing the 11 players who will proudly represent Mexico in the Copa América. The limited edition jerseys are a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design and will be available to fans and collectors through the adiClub, offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of this groundbreaking collaboration that celebrates the exceptional talent of Mexican artisans and Adidas' commitment to sustainable fashion.
