Justin Kluivert has a rare achievement to his name: he is only the second player to have scored in the top six European leagues, and to celebrate this he commissioned customiser Jordan Dawson to create a special pair of boots.
The journey continues for Justin Kluivert, but while it does, so to do the milestones that he reaches. One such came back in November last year when the 24-year-old forward, who joined the Cherries from Roma in June ‘23, scored for Andoni Iraola's side in their Premier League clash against Sheffield United. It meant that the Amsterdam-born player became the second player in the 21st century to score goals in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga, while you can also add the Eredivisie to that list to make it six.
Kluivert, who has already played for seven clubs at the age of 24, has previously netted for Ajax, Roma, RB Leipzig, OGC Nice and Valencia. And to celebrate, he turned to Jordan Dawson, who has carved out a reputation in recent years as the go to guy for boot customisation.
Using the X Crazyfast from the adidas ‘Solar Energy’ pack as the base, Dawson hand-painted each nation’s flag across the rear half of the upper, while the instep features words from Kluivert’s favourite tattoo (Rise Above). The design is finished off with small details including the player’s initials as well as the number 14 (the number of competitions Kluivert has scored in) on the heel.
Kluivert first wore the boots on Saturday 9 March at home against Sheffield United in the 2-2 draw in the Premier League – a fitting fixture to debut them given his goal against them earlier in the season.
