Following Toni Kroos’ retirement from football earlier this year, custom product designer, Jakob Werner has revealed a special TKpro Lux Slipper and TKpro Adilette, created from the former German international’s boots of choice.
Everyone knows the special relationship Toni Kroos had with his 11Pro boots throughout his career – so much so that adidas recently renamed the boots TKPro following the midfield maestro’s retirement. Following the 11Pro’s retirement from the regular Three Stripe roster, Kroos single-handedly kept the boot in the public consciousness through his stubborn resilience to switching out into anything else when playing. Yep, it’s fair to say that few players in the history of modern football, if any, have ever shared a relationship with their boots quite like that of Toni Kroos and his adidas 11Pro.
Over the last ten years, Kroos has won almost all there is to win in football, and he's done so in his favourite pair of boots, making them the ‘most successful pair of football boots ever’. Having been sole mates for a decade, where one goes the other must follow. And so, following his retirement, custom product designer Jakob Werner, known on Instagram as JW Studios, has gone about transforming the renamed TKPro into some more relaxed attire, fit for the chilled out life that follows a fulfilled career: You’re looking at the TKPro Lux Slipper and TKPro Adilette.
Taking the recently released limited edition 11Pro TK, the lux slipper stands out with its distinctive cut in the upper at the rear quarter panel, detailed with soft leather binding. It features a black leather insole with a white trim, perfectly aligned with a leather sole and heel, all made in Germany. Extra comfort is provided by multiple layers of foam padding, while new golden TKPro embroidery adds a touch of elegance.
The TKPro adilette then highlights the iconic adidas 11pro on its strap, incorporating elements from the original shoe. The strap’s reverse side is lined with a thin neoprene/cotton fabric, and it is also adorned with the new TKPro embroidery.
