Kings, queens and good lords of the internet, you can be forgiven if you thought we'd just boxed Mohamed Salah in your computer screen. Alas, we have not. Royally turning the bad rep that social media has in the world of football on it's head, AS Roma and social whizz-kids, Giphy have collaborated to create a series of gifs that will drop throughout the season.
Produced and created by the good guys at Giphy with AS Roma, it's a partnership that can only lead to creative places and quite frankly, who doesn't like a gif? It's pretty much the currency of the internet and the way we express ourselves when an emoji is out of reach or just doesn't quite cut it.
Roma taking a rather tasteful plunge into the world of gifs with a bit of fun, you can forget the traditional head down, look up at the camera job, the goal posts have just moved.
What's more, capturing a glimpse of each players' character, these gifs can be used over the course of the season (as you can see here) and put football into slightly less serious places.
