Having won the league as well as signing a new 10 year lease on their home of the Allianz Stadium, Sydney FC have embraced a new chapter on their journey by unveiling a re-designed club crest and badge.
The Sydney Opera house is of course a landmark that scrapes the sky in Sydney and is known world over as a symbol for the city. It's a key feature of the new design which was unveiled with the video below as it spanned the centre circle of the Allianz Stadium. A clean piece of minimalist flat design, the graphics are subtle as well as tasteful and this reworking sees the club move into contemporary places aesthetically off the pitch while they dominate the Australian game off it.
The design which was created with the fans input has been described by Chairman, Scott Barlow as, "a coming of age for our club... and "an evolution of the previous design with a number of respectful nods to the past. It is a premium and authentic football crest that will stand the test of time and be a true reflection of our club and our identity." A fresh and clean cut as close season allows for those behind the scenes to take shape, the time is now, Australian football, to rise to the fore. We like your style.
