Framed #32 | LA Galaxy v Real Salt Lake

A favourite stopping point on the road of our 'Framed' series, our latest game-day visuals come from the lens of Jared Martinez as LA Galaxy kicked off their first play-off game of the season.

It was a solid start for LA Galaxy who set the tone for a game very well served; 3-1 winners is how it finished up. An interesting slice of perspective with the likes of Landon Donovan making his way back into the fold having returned from retirement just in time for a play-off push. Fitness levels right up there too, it was the youthful edge that took the headlines with Emmanuel Boateng bagging a brace. Joined on the scoresheet by one of the more, lets say "experienced", members of the squad, it was a king of brut Californian cool Alan Gordon who also wheeled away in celebration.

Kyle Beckerman has been a big name in the MLS and indeed the American game for a strong set of years. Leading his Real Salt Lake team into the playoffs only for this this loss to pull back his mane means they've been dumped out at the first hurdle. For LA Galaxy however it means they go into the conference semi-finals; a double legged fixture against Colorado Rapids. So potentially an Everton / Liverpool face-off between 'Rapids' keeper Tim Howard and LA Galactico Steven Gerrard. We'll see about that as Stevey G is still nursing a bit of an injury. We'll find out on Sunday, when these two teams go toe-to-toe. Game on we go.
