Eighteen months on and thirty eight games later, Steven Gerrard's time at LA Galaxy has come to an end. LA photographer Hana Asano caught the very best of him as an Galaxy player.
The perception of players heading out to the States for a retirement breather is nothing but a myth. In every sense, Gerrard's time in Los Angeles was an education for the Scouse icon. The silverware may be lacking but he certainly made his mark on the MLS with his own chapter. He wore the shirt well.
So from Liverpool to LA and rumours of his first management role at MK Dons - where's next? Our guess is El Hadji Douf's for a cuppa then a quick bike ride round the old estate. You know, re-acclimatise. Bidding farewell, to Los Angeles let's hope we've not seen the last of him, just yet.
