No matter what league, division or country - every title is fought and contested with tooth and nail. With Feyenoord, this season defied expectations above any other as they went on to win the Eredivisie. Personifying the season in pictoral form, this series of shots from Willem De Kam summarise the spectacle, flares and all.
Incredible scenes that surround the Dutch city of Rotterdam, these shots summarise the journey we collectively embark on as football fans. So much flavour, so much passion and an all round sense of ecstasy as Feyenoord held out to bring home the bacon.
To put it into perspective, this was the first league title won by Feyenoord this century. For a club of this magnitude, there will always be a level of expectancy but this triumph was set out at the very start of the season as goals have poured in left, right and centre. Ajax may have made it to the final of the Europa League but it's Feyenoord where the party prevailed. Solid throughout too, Feyenoord went the entire season unbeaten at home and wrapping up the title at the famous De Kuip season with Dirk Kuyt bagging a hat trick on his final game before retirement this is a chapter in the club's history that has many a footnote, not to mention beautiful accompanying shots of celebration.
